DEME requested CDR to prepare a brief report regarding the coastal situation of the south side of Bonny Island and potential options for coastal protection.
It has been noticed that significant coastline erosion has taken place south of NLNG residential area. The experts of CDR has extensive know-how of the morphological situation in this area due to experience of previous studies and projects in the area. The depth of the coast is very limited here, and it is also known that a submarine cable and several gas and oil pipelines are located east of the compound.
CDR carried out the following services:
- Coastal Analysis (data analysis, morphological system analysis);
- Alternatives for Coastal Protection (monitoring, beach nourishment, rubble mound shore protection, groynes / fixed points, sheet pile wall);
- Preliminary Design (design considerations, preliminary design lay-out).
